Web14 aug. 2015 · I charged the battery and started properly. Seeing as how it is winter and my car is a 2008 (C230) I went to my mechanic (not a mercedes dealer) to get a new battery installed. Car starts properly but the problem is car wont shift into gear anymore. Looks like the shifter is no longer communicating with the car.
