Up to 80% of cases are caused by cholelithiasis and alcohol abuse. Less common etiologies that need to be explored include hypertriglyceridemia, trauma, ERCP, infections, and drugs. WebDiffuse pancreatic parenchymal enlargement is seen with surrounding retroperitoneal fat stranding and fluid in a 45 years patient. The findings are consistent with acute pancreatitis .
