You cannot transform into a beast with swimming speed until 4th level. You can’t transform into beasts that fly until 8th level. You can use the proficiency bonus of the beast or yourself, whichever is higher.

And the rules don’t do what the older editions did, advocating for giving players unique items/spells/powers to personalize their character. WebNov 16, 2024 · Wildshape is such a subjective ability. Some DMs will absolutely say no. And they'd be justified. Some will say go for it. They'd also be justified. Who know? Best to talk with your DM when you make your druid how they feel about racial traits and which stick around and which don't. Webit should be important to note that while the wild shape states that in a beast form you cant cast spells or do anything else a beast cant do, elementals can cast spells, which is also why there is no need for the lvl 18 feature to cast spells as a beast to mention elemental form as it already can. So, no HD cap, no duration limit, and all "Ex" abilities and racial boni are gained. A wizard / shifter still has a HD cap (as both Polymorph self and Greater Wildshape have), but the duration of GWS is unlimited unless the native form is regained. headphones on world off
