Weighing less than 200 lbs. with its base, the Coehorn mortar could be moved by two men. It fired a 12-lb. explosive shell 800 yards. Coehorns were not normally used in a counter battery roll due to their short range. Coehorns were primarily used during the Civil War in siege operations. I test fired the GB mortar today and it was very under-whelming. I worked up to 200 grs 1F to get 50+ yards out of a golf ball.
