WebOct 18, 2024 · It's major flaw is, the original OMC King Cobra outdrive is removed and in pieces. It's pretty clear that it failed and the previous owner tried to fix it, and they were unsuccessful. My plan would to purchase a conversion kit and a rebuilt modern outdrive. If I had to pull the engine, I wouldn't put another back in. The Merc 4.3/Alpha would be my go to. With a hull and interior in the kind of shape you describe, it would be worth converting.
