WebJan 25, 2024 · The Birmingham Canal Navigations Society (BCNS) aims to conserve, improve and encourage a wide range of interests in the 100 mile network of the Birmingham and Black Country Waterways known as the BCN WebFrom here, the canal again splits into another loop, this one called The Icknield Port Loop. This was originally the Rotton Park Loop. This is a 0.6-mile loop of the eighteenth-century-built Old Birmingham Canal Network Main Line. The canal originally opened to boats back in 1769, but replaced by the straighter New BCN Main Line.
